Cassie Hawrysh was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba but made her mark in the sporting world as a Professional Skeleton Racer with the Canadian National Team. Through her 8 years of racing head first, Cassie celebrated highlights that include: the Canadian National Championship title, World Cup medals and the honour of being named the Canadian Alternate Sled for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

Her elite athletic background, in a variety of sports (volleyball, track and field, and skeleton), has played a vital role in her path in life. (Yes, she golfs!) That said, retirement from professional sport hasn’t slowed her down.

With a degree in the field of Journalism, Cassie continues to live life at top speeds through a multi-faceted career path: Sports Analyst for CBC Radio One, Motivational Speaker, Coach, Media/ Brand Consultant, and full-time Marketing Manager.

Cassie has been a proud supporter of the community of Smithers & the Celebrity Golf Tournament since 2017 and is thrilled to be back this year
