Claire Dalton plays for PWHL Montreal in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. A native of Etobicoke, Ontario, Dalton played Midget AA for the Toronto Aeros and was selected to Team Ontario Red, winning the National Women’s U18 Championship in 2017. That same year, she joined Team Canada at the U18 World Championship, earning a bronze medal.

In 2018, Dalton achieved her goal of playing NCAA Division 1 hockey for an Ivy League university when she joined the Yale Bulldogs. In her first two seasons with the Bulldogs, she was named team MVP. As a junior, her 30 assists and 43 points ranked among Yale’s top five records. In her final season, she served as team captain and set a new Yale record for career assists with 89, surpassing Maria Dennis's record of 68 set from 1984-88. Dalton also led the team in game-winning goals, including scoring the tying and overtime-winning goals against Cornell to secure the Bulldogs’ first-ever Ivy League Championship.

While at Yale, Dalton received the Molly Meyer Humanitarian Award in 2022-23. During her five years at the university, she was part of the organizing committee for the Mandi Schwartz Bone Marrow Drive, which registered approximately 700 people per year for bone marrow donation.

Following her successful college career, where she totaled 133 points in 130 games, Dalton was selected in the 12th round with the 67th overall pick by PWHL Montreal. In her first season with the team, she recorded 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points in 20 games.
