Trinity Ellis is a two-time Olympian and one of Canada’s standout talents in luge, known for her speed, consistency, and calm presence on the ice. Born in Vancouver and raised in Pemberton, British Columbia, Ellis grew up immersed in the mountains — skiing from the age of two and spending her childhood in outdoor sports ranging from soccer to gymnastics. Her path to luge began at age 11 during a Grade 6 field trip to the Whistler Sliding Centre. The rush of the track immediately hooked her, sparking a dream she would chase with determination.
By 14, Ellis was attending national team selections, inspired by Olympian Kimberley McRae’s work ethic and positivity. She joined Luge Canada’s Next Gen program in 2017–18 and quickly rose through the Youth World Cup circuit, earning multiple podiums and victories. Her rapid development led to her senior world championship debut in 2019 and a career‑best eighth-place World Cup finish later that year.
Ellis made her Olympic debut at Beijing 2022, where she was the top Canadian in women’s singles and contributed to Canada’s sixth-place finish in the team relay. She returned to the Games in 2026, solidifying her place among Canada’s elite sliders.
Proudly Métis, Ellis balances her athletic career with studies at Athabasca University and a deep love for the outdoors. In the off-season, she can be found hiking, climbing, camping, or working on her car. Creative at heart, she enjoys crochet, drawing, and collecting mugs from European Christmas markets — small reminders of the places her sport has taken her.
