Amy Fraser is a Canadian freestyle skier who has become one of the country’s top halfpipe athletes, reaching the Olympic stage just six years after she first stepped into the freestyle park. Although she grew up skiing from the age of two, Fraser didn’t discover freestyle until her early twenties while studying at the University of Calgary. Wishing she were travelling instead of sitting in lecture halls, she began spending her free time at Canada Olympic Park, teaching herself how to hit rails and jumps. A coach soon noticed her natural ability and invited her to join a team, setting her on a fast track toward elite competition.
Fraser progressed quickly through the Nor‑Am Cup circuit, earning her first podiums in 2019 with a halfpipe bronze in Stoneham and a slopestyle gold in Le Relais. She joined the national team that same year and made her FIS World Cup debut in the 2019–20 season. In 2021, she competed at her first FIS World Championships, finishing ninth in halfpipe.
Her breakthrough came during the 2021–22 season, when she posted three top‑10 World Cup finishes and advanced to the final at her Olympic debut at Beijing 2022, placing eighth. Fraser’s momentum continued as she earned her first World Cup podium in December 2022, launching a standout season that included finishing second overall in the World Cup halfpipe standings, a career‑best fifth at the world championships, and her first appearance at the Winter X Games.
She followed with another strong campaign in 2023–24, earning three World Cup podiums—including her first World Cup victory—and securing back‑to‑back X Games bronze medals. Fraser also represented Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, solidifying her place among the world’s top halfpipe skiers.
