John Craighead is a former professional ice hockey right winger and enforcer. Born in Richmond, Virginia, he played three seasons in the BCJHL before turning pro. Craighead spent several years split between the ECHL and IHL before being called up by the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1996–97 season. After five games with Toronto, he returned to the minor leagues and later moved to Germany to play in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
Across four seasons in the DEL, Craighead accumulated an impressive 693 penalty minutes in 182 games. After retiring from hockey, he became head coach and part‑owner of the Langley Knights, a Junior B team in the PJHL. He has also appeared in Vancouver Canucks Alumni events, continuing his involvement in the hockey community.
